A woman pregnant with twins lost one of her babies while the other was born premature when allegedly a hospital nurse in a horrific mix-up gave her a medicine meant for another patient admitted for medical termination of pregnancy, according to a complaint lodged at the police station. A lady dentist, resident of Kurla, who was in the 25th week of pregnancy, has alleged that she was administered misoprostol tablet, which is used for termination of pregnancy, instead of micronized progesterone, which prevents early labour. Dentist who has also named two junior doctors in her complaint, said she was given the wrong medicine at 6 pm on February 2, a day after she was admitted to the famous hospital for routine observation.
She went into labour just hours later and underwent a C-section at 9 pm the same evening. One of her twins – both girls – died on Feb 19 because of breathing…
