An NGO, the People for Better Treatment, fighting for patient rights pushed for amending the Consumer Protection Act towards disposing of medical negligence cases through fast-track courts. The NCDRC received a memorandum in this regard seeking an amendment of the 1986 Act for curbing long delays in these types of cases.
