In 2018-19 academic year, the fee is likely to scale up by 10 percent in Karnataka since the introduction of NEET. Recently, a meeting was held by Karnataka state government with private medical and dental college management regarding this issue. The college management demanded to increase fees by 15% but, the government agreed to 10%. As there was no decision made in this regard, another meeting is to be held to review this issue.
Although Karnataka has one of the lowest fee structure compared with the other states, there has been an increase in the fee for medical courses from past few years. Will this price hike affect the financially poor deserving candidates? Should there be price caps for academic fees in India?
