Fire-cracker injuries are very common during festive season like Diwali and New year celebrations. Also due to festive seasons lot of clinics remain closed. These are general guidelines that can be followed by patients who suffer such injury. First aid for fire-cracker injury on skin: Run the burn under cold water, do not apply ice.

Do not apply haldi or any other powder or toothpaste on the burn wound. Do not apply ointment, butter, ice, medicines, cream, oil spray, or any household remedy to a severe burn.
