Radiotherapy is a cornerstone of treatment for multimodal cancer. Fractionation plays a pivotal role in maximizing the destruction of malignant cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. Recent advances in linear accelerators and image-guided techniques have led to a paradigm shift from conventional fractionation radiotherapy (CFRT) to high-dose fractionation radiotherapy (HFRT). This shift helps to reveal the varying effects on the tumor microenvironment and immune responses. Moreover, the radiation dose varies in the case of local tumors and when used in combination with chemotherapy.
