The Various shocking incidents of brutal assaults of doctors were reported in past. Recently, in pune, a doctor on duty was brutally assaulted with scalpel causing sharp and blunt injuries on face after the death of a patient. The patient was known a case of cardiopulmonary illness who was in ICU had cardiac arrest and could not be revived after best efforts. The moment death of a patient is declared. The attendants started beating doctor saying death due to negligence.
After an experience of a large number of shocking brutal cases of assaults of doctors at different places in a different scenario, we have not adopted any preventive strategies. We could not manage securities of our doctors. My view is as a prophylactic measure a security team of guards must be in hospital round-the-clock and before declaring death, security must be called. What is your opinion?
