But such positive outcomes are dependent on timely diagnosis and prompt management. Diagnosis of Gaucher disease by enzyme testing and genetic analysis, is unequivocal, but the rarity of the disease and non-specific and heterogeneous nature of Gaucher disease symptoms may impede consideration of this disease in the differential diagnosis.
