Background: Omentin is an adipocytokine secreted by visceral adipose tissue cells associated with the action of insulin‑increasing, insulin‑facilitated glucose uptake. Aim: The aim of this study was to compare and evaluate the levels of omentin in gingival crevicular uid (GCF) and serum of periodontally healthy individuals and chronic periodontitis (CP) patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Settings and Design: A hospital‑based comparative study was conducted amongst 40 subjects in the age group 30–50 years.
