Healthcare will now be made available right at the doorstep. In order to address the medical queries of the people telephonically, the government plans to launch ‘Doctor on Call (DoC)’, a 24-hour seven-days-a-week national health helpline service. Fuelled by the growing burden of chronic diseases in the country, rising demand for elderly care, post-surgery rehab services and to address healthcare needs at the comfort the government plans to launch ‘Doctor on Call (DoC)’service.

Minister of State for Health (UP) stated that “This facility will reduce the need to pay a personal visit to healthcare centers and thus decrease the load on government hospitals. Moreover, it will also help in speedier consultations, increase government-to-citizen interaction and vice versa, and build trust in government services and deliverables”.
