We see a lot of patients coming from rural areas from the two Godavari Districts and also from Krishna, Visakha and Khammam Districts. Most of these patients come to our hospital at a stage, when they are in a critical condition after they have been (mis)managed outside by the so called "RMPs", euphemism for Village Doctors. I am not against these "Barefoot doctors" more popular as "Cycle" doctors, administering First aid medical care to patients who go to these "friendly neighbourhood" people. But most RMPs do not stop at that.
They reassure the patient that all is going to be well and administer drugs like steroids, antibiotics, and even potentially lethal drugs like Adrenaline, Dopamine etc. When the patient deteriorates, they quickly shuttle the patient to the city.
