Robotic-assisted surgery has evolved in last 2 decades and still improving with the help of advanced medical technology. This article discusses the factors an anesthesiologist need to consider while performing a robot-assisted gynecologic surgery to improve patient outcomes along with better efficiency with minimal complications. Robotic-assisted surgeries have gained attention in gynecologic surgery because the robot can be manipulated through natural orifices.

The robotic technique is most suitable for operations in a closed and confined space such as the pelvis. Robotic-assisted surgery is beneficial in securing uterine vessels and cardinal ligaments, performing an accurate colpotomy, oversewing vaginal cuff, and endometriosis surgery in the gynecologic settings.
