In order to understand the significance of patient safety and the challenges encountered by the Physicians, the Health Ministry is all set to launch a uniform strategic patient safety framework in the entire country. Patient safety has been recognised as one of the crucial components of quality of care and many initiatives have been taking place to address this diverse issue. Although the laws, regulations and strategies on the quality of care regarding patient safety do exist in the country, however, they are largely uneven.
