Dear all As we are now in 2015, medical science & technology is advanced & as in routine practice surgeon are getting patients with ultrasound sound report. CPA is there too & patient also demanding, What is surgeon's emergency at present on ultrasound report? 1. On ultrasound free fluid in pelvis in any sex in symptomatic patient . Yes go for DPL , if vegetable fibres present laparotomy must if not patient can be put on conservation & observe.
2. Normal ultrasound report but patient is symptomatic , in abdominal case urine test / profile & stool test & blood counts & plain x-ray chest in stading position /plain X ray lumbosacral spine should be done. In normal ultrasound these simple tests can be helpful to make a diagnosis / screen a patient. 3.
