I came across this thought and as I kept thinking about it, it appeared more interesting and I thought I should discuss it with you all so that I can get a different perspective on it. So here is the proposal. We all practice in a highly hostile environment where cost cutting is the key. We also know that in our sector, competition is seen nowadays as the key to commoditize our services and bring down cost rather than generate resources to improve the quality of care being provided.

With Socialized health care becoming the norm, process innovation to bring down pricing to include the bottom of the pyramid is more acceptable than product innovation to bring in new medicines/ treatments/ strategies/ cures.
