The study showed COVID-19 related changes in the composition of gut microbiota and its capability to alter the metabolic pathways in the host, thereby improving the host’s deteriorated immune response. A direct association between diet, gut microbiota with COVID-19 disease and its symptoms is well-known. Following the changes in gut microflora during the infection and in the recovery period can help researchers identify the composition of beneficial gut bacteria in staving off the disease.
