Dear friends, I saw a patient, 6 months old born FTND, was diagnosed as a case of large interhemispheric extra-axial brain cyst on MRI which was done as an infant had an episode of seizure at 2 months of age. At the age of 6 months, parents felt that infant is not hearing well and BERA was requested which was reported as "No waveforms could be elicited suggestive of severe to profound hearing loss" Although there is well-formed cochlea as seen on CT and MRI. Is there anything we can do for this infant?
Is cochlear implant of any help in such case. Need your expert opinion.
