Surgeons performed a critical brain surgery on a three and half-year-old baby who was having more than 50 seizures a day since his birth. Doctors suggest that earlier this kind of surgery can be done on children born with an epileptic condition, more are the chances to prevent consequent developmental defects later in their life. A 12-days-old baby started having epileptic seizure almost 50 times a day just after he was brought home by his parent. Initially, it just looked like a really bad and recurrent hiccup, but he looked kind of lethargic, his arms were twitching, so we're thinking something is wrong.

At times, his seizure would have continued for 30 minutes even. His parent saw one after another futile medication effort by doctors to stop his seizure. The drugs would halt the seizures temporarily in the hospital, but once they got home, the episodes would resume. At some point…
