Dupuytren's disease is a condition that affects the fascia, which is the fibrous layer of tissue beneath the skin of the palm and fingers. The fascia thickens and tightens over time in patients affected with Dupuytren's disease. This pulls the fingers inward towards the palm, resulting in Dupuytren's contracture.
