The Maharashtra government has convened a meeting to address the escalating dispute between homeopathy associations and the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Maharashtra, over the proposed registration of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) practitioners holding a Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP) with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC). The meeting follows directions issued during a government review last week instructing the MMC to begin registering CCMP-qualified BHMS practitioners.
