I am writing in response to the article published on Docplexus titled "IMA To Challenge Draconian West Bengal Medical Act" by Dr. Manish M. I read the article with great interest. As per the article, the president of the IMA has raised the issue of unconstitutional points in the Clinical Establishment Act introduced by the Government of West Bengal very recently.

At the outset, I would like to say that the rules framed under the act, if truly enforced in practice, will make it difficult for doctors to survive and serve. But who am I to say that the West Bengal Clinical Establishments (Registration, Regulation, and Transparency) Act, 2017, which was notified by the law Dept of Govt of West Bengal on 17th March 2017 is unconstitutional?
