IMA is going to hold a ‘Mahapanchayat’ on 25 th March at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Delhi to oppose the National Medical Commission Bill. The IMA has strongly opposed the NMC Bill that seeks to replace the MCI, claiming that it will cripple the medical profession. IMA has already started the month-long ‘Bharat Yatra’ across India from Kanyakumari that has reached Haridwar now. The yatra would end on March 25 th at Delhi, where a ‘Mahapanchayat’ of the doctors would be held.

IMA’s President said that over 20,000 medical fraternities are expected at the venue. Various issues like NMC Bill, Clinical Establishments Act and the rising violence against the doctors and hospitals will be placed before the Mahapanchayat and would be discussed in great detail.
