When the term ECG is uttered the first point that clicks in mind is its association with cardiology. Electrocardiography is a simple and universally accepted test that is practiced by clinicians all over the world to assess the conditions of the heart and to bring out the best possible solution. In this article a brief description of ECG is given. Importance of ECG: ECG is an important test that is performed to check the electrical activity of the heart. It helps in detecting the problems of the heart in the form of graph which depicts the spikes and dips commonly known as the waves.
The waves are namely Q, R and S. The Q wave presents the downward deflection, R wave the upward deflection and S wave again the downward deflection after R wave.
