Recently I had a patient who has got LBBB in ECG but X Ray chest is showing no specific changes in the heart. Clinically decided as a possible HOCM. Unfortunately in spite of no obvious clinical symptoms and signs in favour of HF, the echo reported was reported as DCM with EF less than 40% by a local cardiologist- I have already mentioned this in my Echocardiography in India article in Docplexus.

Since the diagnosis is in favour of HOCM, it is decided to do Cardiac MRI by me and referred to multispeciality hospital center at Madurai having the facility for Cardiac MRI.Unfortunately without taking Echo and clinically examining, believing in previous echo report, the concerned Cardiologist wants an work up for CAHD. When the patient insisted on Cardiac MRI, the cardiologist commented that  the doctor who referred knows to treat only fever and I am the one qualified for dealing your case.…
