Following promising results from a phase III clinical trial, an Indian biotechnology company has planned to manufacture 200 million doses of its oral cholera vaccine, BBV131, annually. The BBV131 vaccine (novel single-strain vaccine) can be administered to individuals above one year on Day 0 and Day 14. The clinical trial demonstrated that BBV131 is safe and non-inferior to existing oral cholera vaccines .
