The Union Government is set to introduce a standardized hospital bill format for all clinical establishments, including hospitals, nursing homes, and diagnostic centers, to enhance transparency in patient billing. Developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in consultation with the Union Health Ministry, the healthcare industry, and patient advocacy groups, the new format mandates an itemized breakdown of all charges incurred by patients.
