In India, the traditional systems of medicine are plenty. From Siddha system of medicine of Tamil Nadu with which I have great association for the past forty years, Ayurvedic Medicine, Unami Medicine, so many systems are followed in various regions of India. These are treasure houses of information on medicine and already tried in human beings for thousands of years, though not as per the modern protocol. So, if proper studies are done, India can contribute to the knowledge of modern medicine effectively.
A separate research institute to synthesis these info into practical medicine is the need of the hour.
