A 62 year male with no cardiac history, normotensive and not diabetic, has following report :chol 261.0, TG - 178.2, Hdl 63.2, Ldl - 153.2. His father had CABG. Mother and brother have high cholesterol. Q: Is statin indicated?

If he is on statin can it be stopped if not indicated? He is worried about recent memory impairment. Will statin worsen it?
