Biliary injuries, such as leakages and lesions, are severe, long-term laparoscopic cholecystectomy complications associated with higher morbidity and mortality. The incidence rate of biliary tract injuries is 0.6% in laparoscopic procedures and 0.1% in open cholecystectomy. It is, therefore, important to manage biliary injuries in laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
