SGLT2 inhibitors: Dapagliflozin, Canagliflozin and Empagliflozin are new class of antidiabetics which lower blood glucose levels by preventing renal tubular glucose absorption. Renal glycosuria with normal blood glucose levels is common side effect. Prescribing trend: Being new class highly prescribed. Drawbacks: By causing renal glycosuria make patient more prone to suffer from UTI. A Case Report: A 60 years old diabetic woman was prescribed dapagliflozin 10 mg daily in addition to treatment with metformin and glimepiride.
