MCI is very much akin to Collegium in many aspects having constituted members of same department so that their problems are easily sorted and solved. Now the Parliament approved NMC bill has been sent to a Parliamentary Standing Committee for further scrutiny and approval.
When NJAC came in to existence in 13/4/2015, after approval of President of India, Supreme Court intervened and struck the case on 16/10/2015 and "collegium" system got approved. Why not Parliamentary Standing Committee follow the system of "Collegium" and bring back "Indian Medical Council" system?
