National Family Health Survey-4 revealed that c-section deliveries are performed three times more in private hospitals than in government hospitals. The WHO recommended acceptable c-sections rate10 to15%. In the various states in private hospitals, C- sections deliveries rate is around 75% in comparison to around18% in government hospitals. For private hospitals, it is mandatory to display data of C- sections in the reception area.It is also said that rate more than10% is not associated with higher MMR and IMR.
