Lower back pain (LBP) is a common problem in the adolescent population which is caused due to various factors. Unfortunately, this often leads to tremendous socioeconomic and psychological distressful consequences. Further, the lack of appropriate protocols for identifying risk factors complicates the diagnosis. According to several epidemiological studies, there has been a higher prevalence of LBP in adolescents.
The problems which commonly affect a child or adolescent’s back are mostly injuries due to sports, falls or unusual strain caused by using heavy backpacks. Further, these conditions are primarily caused due to muscle stiffness caused by a pulled muscle, bruising, or a strained ligament.
