Preterm birth increases the risk of neurodevelopmental impairments, underscoring the need for effective early interventions. To address this gap, a study evaluated the feasibility and effectiveness of a parent-delivered General Movement (GM)–based intervention, enhanced with music therapy, on infant neurodevelopment and parental mental health, involving 66 very preterm infants (<32 weeks’ gestation).

The study found no significant differences between the GM intervention and control groups in overall neurodevelopmental outcomes or parental mental health, despite a lower median birth weight in the GM group [1035 g (interquartile range (IQR) 853–1230 g)] compared with the control group [1243 g (IQR, 919–1623 g)].
