After many IT raid cases of doctors, another one has appeared recently. IT raid uncovered Rs 18 crore in cash, 8 kg gold and 30 kg silver from a prominent hospital run by doctor couple duo in UP. The doctor is a prominent gastroenterologist in UP and his wife is a gynecologist. The couple surrendered 14 crores in cash and the IT department seized another Rs 3.5 crores cash, 8kg gold, 30kg silver and documents related to undisclosed properties worth Rs 8 crores. Confidential sources revealed that IT department is keeping a close eye on 9 city-based chartered accountants and 22 doctors running private nursing homes and hospitals.
During a meeting, the department had also warned city’s jewelers, doctors, accountants to avoid raids by depositing their advance taxes. These doctors must be already wealthy. It is because of such doctors that the medical fraternity gets maligned. Source: ET…
