Overweight and obesity affect a substantial proportion of patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA), often complicating disease management and worsening outcomes. Combining targeted anti-inflammatory therapy with effective weight reduction may offer additional clinical benefits. To address this, a study evaluated whether ixekizumab administered concomitantly with tirzepatide improves outcomes compared with ixekizumab alone in 271 adults with active PsA and overweight or obesity.
The study found that ixekizumab combined with tirzepatide significantly improved clinical outcomes compared with ixekizumab alone in patients with active psoriatic arthritis and overweight or obesity.
