A 55-year-old male presented with complaints of numbness and painful left upper limb on lying down position since 15 days. Symptoms start after 5 to 10 minutes of lying position, and symptoms are so severe that he is not able to sleep for last 5 days. Symptoms are relieved by sitting or standing position. He is able to write without any problems. The patient is a smoker, he had a fracture of clavicle left side 3 years back which was treated conservatively, seems united with shortening on x-ray.

MRI cervical spine shows disc prolapse at c6 -c7 level with left root compression. NCV test for both upper limbs was normal. What could be the diagnosis? How can the positional nature symptoms be explained?
