Ocular trauma has lately been identified as a leading cause of vision loss. Around 1.6 million people are blind due to eye injuries worldwide, with 2.3 million having bilateral vision impairment and 19 million having unilateral visual impairment. In the Kashmir Valley, ocular injuries caused by pellet gun firing have increased in recent years. When a single pellet gun cartridge is discharged, it explodes into about 500 small iron pellets that can pierce any body tissue, including the eyes.
As a result, one or more pellets may cause damage to the eye. To shed more light on ocular injuries due to trauma Docplexus has organized an interactive MasterSeries webinar by Dr. Sundaram Natarajan on Ocular surgery for pellet gun injuries on 22 nd June 2021 from 4 PM onwards.
