The guidelines issued by Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) released in 2009 that are intended for monitoring, management, and treatment of kidney transplant recipients. These guidelines should help practitioners to care for adults and children after kidney transplantation. After the first successful kidney transplantation in the year 1954, there has been an exponential increase in the kidney transplantation recipients (KTRs).
