Therapeutic role of ketogenic diet has been supported with research evidence in the recent years. For decades, ketogenic diets are being used for their therapeutic potential in management of epilepsy and more precisely drug resistant epilepsies. Recently, the potential of these diets for management other diseases has also been explored with positive results. Ketogenic diets are very low carbohydrate (usually to less than 50 g/day) diet with moderate proportions of protein and relatively higher proportions of fat.
