Even large hospitals can not escape from negligence & consumer protection act , think about small nursing homes & other hospitals under consumer protection act. NCDRC ordered that compensation amount should be paid from the date of filing complaint almost from 20 years back. What is the logic here? For delayed judgment why should hospitals pay interest about 25 lakh in this case?

If courts had given judgment earlier , compensation amount would have been 50% lesser. Why hospitals & doctors are not fighting? I think thatswhy hospitals & doctors are getting sued.
