A 21 year male patient presented to our hospital one year back with pain left hip &  left knee joint with difficulty in walking over last one year & fever from last five days. Fever was continous in nature, moderate and not accompanied by chills & rigors. On examination, both knee & hip joint were extremely tender with limb in 15 degree flexion at both joints. ESR = 30 , TLC =18400, R,.A Factor –negative, Uric Acid 2.5, widal and M.P test –negative Urine exam Normal, Urine & Blood Culture – sterile, Mantoux Test -positive , MRI Left Hip – F/S/O .

Inflammatory arthritis left hip joint with small intra-articular erosions, narrow Odema & synovitis. Patient was kept on skin traction left lower limb & given I/V antibiotics for next 7 days but no relief in pain or fever was seen. Patient was then given ATT along with antiflammatory & antipyretic drugs but no response was seen over next week.…
