Rheumatoid arthritis or autoimmune arthritis affects the lining of joints, causing painful swelling, bone erosion, and joint deformity. According to the meta-analysis based on a systematic review, the data analyzed between 1980 and 2019 showed that this condition affects 460/100,000 people. To shed light on autoimmune arthritis and spread awareness about the condition, the International Foundation for Autoimmune and Autoinflammatory Arthritis (IFAA) initiated observing World Autoimmune Arthritis Day on 20 th May every year.
