A team of cardiac surgeons at a specialized cardiac center in Faridabad successfully performed a rare and complex fourth open-heart surgery on a 52-year-old patient from Pune, who had been suffering from severe valve degeneration due to rheumatic heart disease. The patient had a long history of cardiac surgeries spanning over two decades. His initial surgery in 2002 involved replacing both the mitral and aortic valves with biological valves. By 2012, those valves had degenerated, requiring replacement with new biological valves.
