Endometriosis is chronic inflammatory disorder affecting about 10% of women across the globe in their reproductive age. It is characterized by growth of endometrial-like tissue outside of the uterus. Early menopause is a condition when ovaries stop functioning prematurely before the female turns 45. Both of these conditions pose serious health risks in women.
A cohort study with 106633 premenopausal women has associated laparoscopically confirmed endometriosis with the risk of early natural menopause.
