A 19 year old female presents with pain in the abdomen since one and a half years. The patient describes a feeling of ball moving all over the abdomen. On examination, vague generalised tenderness was present. No organomegaly or intestinal obstruction was present. The pain increases with food intake and relieves by pressing the stomach. She has been to over 25 different doctors over the past two years and investigated for multiple complaints including pain, fainting episodes and cessation of menstruation.
Investigations revealed no haematological, biochemical or hormonal abnormalities. Imaging studies including colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy did not reveal any abnormality.
