Dear Doctors! What is the criteria to start patients on low dose aspirin 75mg? Also can we give aspirin to a patient who was previously treated for antral gastritis, but takes rantac once a week when she has heartburn?

What is the alternative to aspirin in such patients who are diabetic and hypertensive for 8 years? Is clopidogrel safe in such cases?
