India is a country with the highest burden of TB. In 2015, WHO provided an estimated incidence of 2.2million TB cases in India out of a global incidence of 9.6million. The association between the incidence of TB and socioeconomic status may be mediated through nutritional status. In this regard, a study conducted by Harvard researchers cautioned the possible link between vitamin A supplementation and TB control. This article provides an overview of this important research towards controlling TB.
