6 yr old boy immunised to date was brought with h/0 rashes -2days,mild fever, lower lid swelling in the lateral side in the left eye(rt eye-clear) with watering and minimal redness, father said the lids were struck on the first on the first day,he had applied antibiotic ointment to that eye,eye was better and swelling had reduced.throat was clear,RS-was clear.since the child had h/o repeated respiratory infections-?asthma in childhood, and had a younger sister  I started on acyclovir, though I knew it was not essential.i reviewed the case the next day the child was fine but the swelling and minimal redness with watering +.As the child was otherwise healthy I asked them to continue with the ciplox eye drops I had prescribed and keep a watch over the eye.The parent kept on asking if ophthalmic opinion was needed.what else ?could the swelling be due to insect bite, would Aviil been necessary?
