The Maharashtra government has announced the formation of a Special Task Force (STF) to conduct statewide inspections and take action against illegal IVF and sonography centers operating across the state. The initiative aims to prevent patients from being exploited by unauthorized facilities. The government also stated that it is considering introducing legislation to bring offenses related to illegal IVF and sonography centers under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), with the proposal expected to be presented in the next legislative session.
