A 77-year old male underwent elective duodenopancreatectomy surgery. As a part of multimodal analgesia, a continuous infusion of lidocaine was administered peri-operatively. Surgery was uneventful. However in postoperative intensive care unit, the patient experienced progressive neurological and haemodynamic failure.
